Stupid Sales Tactics
Today, I was at the Hacienda shopping center in Dublin. I had just bought a shirt from Old Navy and was walking back to meet my wife at another store.
As I was walking over, this girl looks at me and says "Hey!". I assume that she wasn't talking to me and continue to walk by. She starts talking to me like she knows me. I say to her "Do I know you?". She says "Not yet but you should know me." I'm saying to myself this girl is nuts. She also has 2 other girls with her. She then asks me if I wear cologne. Right then I figured out what was going on. I tell her I don't which is true. I only wear cologne on special occasions. She says to me "Are you sure? You like someone who would wear cologne. You dress nice." I looked down at my clothes and laughed. At the time I was wearing some old blue jeans, a $5 polo shirt with a stain on it, and my dirty, nasty looking vans. Her friend says, "I bet he wears cologne." and she grabs ahold of me gets right up on me and starts sniffing me. Her whole body was rubbing up against me. It seemed like she was intentionally trying to rub her boobs against me. I quickly jumped away from her off the sidewalk and almost into oncoming traffic just to get her off me. The first girl says to me "We have some cologne we can sell you."
I was harassed and nearly molested by some girl that wanted to sell me cologne. Is this the way that people try to make a sale? Do these girls think that if they flirt with a guy he will part with his money for some useless cologne? Are there that many guys out there that will buy something that they don't need just because a girl gets a little friendly with him? Maybe I am just a little wiser with my money or maybe I am just not that easily swayed by a pretty face. (Neither of them were pretty.) I just don't see that this kind of sales tactic would work on a regular basis.
