Luck?

I don't believe in luck. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Most things that happen to us are caused by our own actions whether directly or indirectly. But there are some things that occur that are totally out of our hands. Some people call it chance but I believe it is God doing His work. Sometimes things happen that we construe to be negative but they are actually positive. Say for example, I get stuck in behind some slow driver on my way to work. I'm cursing all the way as I follow the slow driver only to see that a mile or so ahead is a speed trap with a cop and a radar gun pointed right at me. If I hadn't been stuck behind that slow driver, I would have gotten a speeding ticket. (This has actually happened to me and isn't just a hypothetical situation.) Even though at the time, I was angry and frustrated behind the slow driver, I should have thanked him/her for being so slow and saving me from that ticket. What I thought was a negative thing turned out to be a positive. It's called a blessing in disguise.

In my last post, I had a major set back that pretty much crushed the plan that I had dreamed for several months. But if you want something bad enough, you keep fighting till you get it. I read through another one of my blog posts (since I am the only one that reads it) and it helped me to remember that I am not a quitter. I can't believe that I am so willing to give up all hope so easily and so quickly. Yes, it hurt really bad but that is no reason to sit around and pout. When you get knocked down, you get back up. I'm still ticked off. I'm still very frustrated. But if anything, I am more determined to set my plans in motion more than ever. I will be that much more satisfied when I achieve my goal because I fought through so much. If it were easy, would it really be worth the effort? Nothing worth having comes easy. I said it before and I'll say it again, Goonies never say die!
