Office Cafe
There is a cafe in the office that I work at. I've never eaten there but I do buy the junk food that they sell every once in a while. The food that they make looks pretty nasty. I actually think a McDonald's breakfast is healthier than the stuff that they sell.
When I do go in there, it's usually to buy a soda and depending on how hungry I am, a bag of Doritos. The funny thing is that there is a set of vending machines down in the back and the pricing varies between the cafe and the vending machine. A soda from the cafe is $0.65 and at the vending machine it's $0.75. A bag of Doritos is $0.85 from the cafe but $0.75 from the vending machine. It seems like it's only 10 cents and shouldn't be that big of a dea but I once bought a bag of Mrs. Vickies Jalapeno chips from the cafe and they charged me $1.25 when the vending machine has them for $0.75. I want to support the people that run the cafe but if the vending machine is going to be significantly cheaper I will use the machine. Another big problem with the cafe is the timing of my visits. If I go from 8-9 AM or 12-1 PM it's very crowded and they seem to shut down after 2 PM. Fairly often I will need that sugar rush to finish the afternoon and the vending machine is my only option. The only drawback that I can see from using the vending machine is I don't really know the age of the items that I am buying but since I buy soda and chips, that shouldn't be too much of a problem. The vending machines are always open but having change is usually the only challenge.

I probably sound like a cheap-o but when you're in desperate need of a soda and you have to scrounge for change, 5-10 cents can make a huge difference.

Dude, a small bag of chips in the vending machine by my office is $1.25 when i can buy the big bag for $1.00 at the cafeteria! Vending machines are usually a rip off!
