My camera sucks. Lately it's been acting really stupid. For some odd reason, it likes to switch to movie mode instead of picture mode and there is nothing that I can do about it. I'll get ready to snap the perfect photo and pow, it decides it's time for a movie. It drove me nuts this weekend when I wanted to take pictures during my friends wedding. I've decided it's time for a new one.

I'm going to Miami and on to a cruise to the Bahamas in November so I better get a new camera before then. The question is whether or not I should get another point and shoot camera or go for the DSLR. Costco has a great deal on the new Canon Rebel XSi with an extra lens for $799. The reviews say its a very good entry level DSLR which is more than I will probably need. The big drawbacks of a DSLR is the size. While I am sure it will take fantastic pictures, the size and weight will make lugging it around a pain. I sitll have a couple of weeks to decide which route I'm going to go.
