Day 3: More Miami Beach
I'm still on California time so waking up at 9 local time is a bit difficult. I had wanted to get a hair cut and I found a Supercuts within walking distance. My wife wanted to sleep in a bit more so I went out on my own to get my hair cut.
When I get to the Supercuts, I am greeted by Zohan. He is this big dude with with his shirt half open showing off his chest hair. He has long curly hair about half way down his back with blonde streaks. He also has a bad accent that makes it very difficult for me to understand what he is saying. I ask him not to go too short and he proceeds to ignore me and butcher my hair.
I get back to the hotel and my wife is still sleeping. I decide to take a shower and shave and try to clean up the mess that is my hair. After I take my shower and get dressed, my wife and I watch a little TV and we go out to find some lunch and do a little shopping. We head over to Espanola Way and my wife looks at clothes while I hang out. After some shopping, we decide to go eat at this little Italian Pizzeria. My wife ordered a calzone which was bigger than her head. We went back to the hotel and figured we should try to take advantage of the beach before it started to get dark. By the time we got to the beach, it was really windy and kinda cold. We went over to the pool for a little while but we were both pretty tired and headed up to the room for a while.
We're back in the hotel room just relaxing and my wife takes another one of her naps while I watch football. We go out to get something to eat and decide to just get a snack since neither of us are hugely hungry. We walk around a bit and settle on McDonalds of all things. My wife has a thing for the fries with the buffalo sauce. Since I really wanted a soda, it seemed like a decent option. We ate and then headed over to a gelato place that we saw previously on Lincoln.
The gelato place was small and there was this group of girls in line next to us that were kind of rude and weren't respecting our space. They kept walking passed us in line and bumped me a few times. They had to be foreigners visiting the area. They spoke some language that I couldn't identify. I think it was some Eastern European language from the sound of it.
We take the scenic route around town to get back to our hotel and relax for a little bit. I start packing up my stuff so we can get out tomorrow fairly efficiently. At about 10:30, the munchies start to set in. We walked by this very nice looking deli/restaurant called Jerry's Deli that was opened 24 hour on our walk back to the hotel and decided to go over there. The menu there was gigantic! I ended up ordering a hot dog and fries while my wife ordered some sort of salad and a mojito. When the bill came, I realized why so many places value their liquor licenses so much. The most expensive item on our bill was..... the mojito at $9. Just another reason why I don't drink alcohol. I don't really care about the cost as long as my wife is happy. I just know that if it were just me, I would never get one of those drinks. The place had multiple TVs with the Sunday Night Football game on so I watched it as we ate. After we ate, we walked back to the hotel and called it a night.
