Summer is almost over and I don't feel like it even had a chance to start. Nothing really interesting happened this summer. Normally I would go on some sort of vacation and that would be the highlight of the summer but this year, the only vacation was a weekend trip to San Diego which turned out to be rather stressful since we ended up driving out there.

I think the problem was that we went to Cancun in late April and because of that we didn't take a summer trip. Add to it that we bought a new car and funds for a summer trip were pretty low. The San Diego trip was kind of a band aid and now that I think about it, it didn't really work. Now I feel like I wasted the whole summer. The only real outdoor activity that I have done all summer long has been to go on the occassional bike ride with my imaginary friend (more on that later).

I really want to do something fun before summer is completely gone. The only opportunity that I have left is on Labor Day weekend. My wife is already going to New Jersey to visit her cousin. She asked me if I wanted to come but now that we have the puppy and the cat that needs to be force fed medication twice a day, that isn't going to work. A friend of mine wants to organize a trip to Tahoe that weekend but I don't think I can do that either with the dog and cat problem. I'm screwed.
