Bye Bye Sylvester

I've been almost two weeks now so I feel like I've come to a point where I can rationally put my thoughts together on this. On Saturday, June 11th, I had to say good-bye to my cat, Sylvester. He had health problems ever since my wife brought him home from the shelter and over the last two months he was getting really bad. I guess it was just his time. Sylvester came to us because my wife was volunteering at the animal shelter. She felt sorry for Sylvester because he had been in the shelter for almost a year. He was an older cat with a bad attitude. He would always get quarantined for biting...

My Best Friend is….

My Best Friend is….

When I was in elementary school, my teacher gave us all an assignment to write an essay. The topic was "My Best Friend". I had a terrible time with this assignment. I barely had any friends let alone a "best friend". What was I going to write about? Most of the kids at my school hated me and treated me like crap. I was and still am pretty awkward which makes me an easy target. I tried to talk to my mom about it. I didn't want to tell her that I didn't have any friends so I wasn't able to really talk to her about the problem. She was under the impression that I was a great kid and that everyone...

AT&T finally ramps down throttling of unlimited LTE customers

Facing lawsuit, AT&T now throttles 4G customers only when network is congested.Source: AT&T finally ramps down throttling of unlimited LTE customers It's about freaking time that AT&T did something about this. I've been on a throttled unlimited data plan for years now and it seems that this month, I can finally use my phone as I want without restrictions. Thank you FTC and keep fighting the good fight.

Hit & Run

Apparently it's difficult for people to accept responsibility for their mistakes. I, for one, don't particularly like admitting that I'm wrong but when it does happen and it happens a lot, I own up to it. Even if it's going to cost me in some way. I guess I am in the minority. What's the point of all this? Well someone hit my new car when it was parking in a parking lot in Palo Alto and didn't leave a note to take responsibility. I've had my car for about 6 months now and I while I miss my old car, my new car is pretty damn cool. It took some getting used to the size difference. I had grown...

Restoring My Faith in Humanity

I've seen lots of crazy Russian Dash-Cam videos of people road raging and getting into fights in the middle of the street and all sorts of acts that would make you cry for humanity. I've always believed that for every crazy person out there, there are 10 kind people. This video restores my faith in that theory. Click here to view the video.

Why I Deleted Facebook

I have deleted my Facebook account. As much as I tried, I could not get into it. There are a few things that really drove me away. The first thing actually doesn't have much to do with Facebook itself. I guess it's more of a personal problem that I have. I didn't like seeing all the cool things that my friends were doing. It made me feel like a loser. I wasn't doing anything exciting or fun and my friends weren't exactly inviting me to join in on their activities. I guess the problem was either me or my friends and didn't really have anything to do with Facebook. Another problem I had was with...

Go Suck an Egg City of Millbrae

Today, I signed up for traffic school. I hate traffic school but at least I have the option of doing it online rather than in a classroom that ruins my entire Saturday. Complaining about traffic school isn't the reason for this post. My intent here is to complain about how I ended up having to take traffic school. It all started like this.... It was the day before Thanksgiving 2012 and I was flying out to spend the holiday with family. I was going to meet my father in law at the BART station and take the train to San Francisco airport. I had figured it was a good idea to park my car at the BART...

Window vs Aisle Seat

I don't really fly that often. While I do work for an international company and often work on projects that originate around the globe, I am most often sequestered to my cubicle. Most of the air travel I do is for personal reasons. When choosing a seat, I used to always try to get the exit row seat for the additional space even if it was a middle seat. The extra legroom was worth it. Now, since every airline charges much more for an exit row seat, that is out of the equation. I pretty much refuse to pay for anything beyond my ticket price to the airlines. It ticks me off that they charge for every...
